Alan Bartlett and Sons is committed to meeting and exceeding stringent food manufacturing standards. In fact, we’ve set the benchmark for quality and innovation in the industry.
We are a member of Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) – an organisation dedicated to the continuous improvement of the ethical performance of business supply chains.
We are fully compliant with the Ethical Trading Initiative’s Base Code, which recognises a number of important workplace standards, including the provision of safe and hygienic working conditions, living wages and the right to collective bargaining.
We work closely with our dedicated labour provider, to ensure that we comply with the codes of practice set out and regulated by the Gangmasters Licensing Authority to protect the interests of workers employed in agriculture and food processing and packaging.
We have been third-party audited and fully certified as meeting the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, which shows that we implement good working practices and have the supporting quality management systems to supply safe, legal produce.
As a Tesco supplier, we are fully compliant with the Tesco Food Manufacturing Standard, which sets a range of benchmarks for quality, working conditions and ethical standards which suppliers must meet or exceed.
We also meet the high standards set out in the Tesco Nature’s Choice code of practice, designed to ensure that suppliers operate in an environmentally responsible way, with proper regard for the health and wellbeing of staff.
We produce crops in accordance with Assured Produce standards, designed to address the need for safe food of good quality at affordable prices.
Together, these standards and accreditations recognise the integrity of our produce, and show how taking a responsible and sustainable approach is no barrier to being profitable.
